چکیده

Nitrogen and organic matter are part of the pollutant causing eutrophication in freshwater. Textiles industry like Endek is main source matter. Tis paper aims to know degradation process Ammonia-Nitrogen (NH3-N) Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) with ozone pretreatment operated by different DO level activated sludge. There 2 scenarios treatments this study: (R1) without (R2). Wastewater treatment began seeding acclimatization process. This study showed efficiency NH3-N COD 17.7 27.5 %. Biological (BOD)/COD increased pretreatment, from 0.25 0.38, COD/TKN stated at 3.26. Ozone reduced 23.8 34.1 sludge levels 44.2 % 68.2 ammonia elimination was capable preventing waterbody. The indicated TKN (Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen) levels: 87 79 concentration Nitrate (NO3-N) 2.9 5.5 mg/L when reached 1 - 3 mg/L. reduction were 17 42.5 could make wastewater qualified into standard quality.

Carbon Removal by Activated Sludge under Fully Aerobic Conditions at Different COD/N Ratio

The aim of the experiment was to analyze the particular processes (biomass synthesis, oxidation, denitrification and accumulation) during carbon removal from wastewater. The experiment was carried out in a sequencing batch reactor (SBR) in two series with different organic carbon compounds to nitrogen compounds ratio (COD/N). Organic carbon loading of activated sludge was 0.07 g COD/g·d. Organi...

Textile wastewater treatment: aerobic granular sludge vs activated sludge systems.

Textile effluents are characterised by high content of recalcitrant compounds and are often discharged (together with municipal wastewater to increase their treatability) into centralized wastewater treatment plants with a complex treatment scheme. This paper reports the results achieved adopting a granular sludge system (sequencing batch biofilter granular reactor - SBBGR) to treat mixed munic...

Investigation of the Excess Sludge Reduction in SBR by Oxidizing Some Sludge by Ozone

The excessive biological sludge production is one of the disadvantages of aerobic process such as SBR. So the problem of excess sludge production along with its treatment , and disposal in aerobic processes in municipal and industrial waste water can be seen in many parts of the world even in our country . to solve the problem of excess sludge production , reducing in by oxidizing some of t...

Coupled Anaerobic Baffled Reactor (ABR)/Activated Sludge Treatment of Synthetic Wastewater with High Concentration of Sulfate and COD

A synthetic wastewater with high concentration of sulfate and COD was treated in anaerobic baffled reactor (ABR) coupled with an activated sludge. The work was accomplished in two phases. In the first phase, the concentration of sulfate was kept constant at 500mg/l, but COD concentration was increased from (3000mg/l to 6000mg/l), consequently, COD and sulfate removal in ABR reached to 80% and 9...
